Ampacity figures reflect common chassis/marine-style continuous-duty wire ratings, not a specific national electrical code table. Voltage-drop math uses K = 12.9 Ω·cmil/ft for copper and K = 21.2 Ω·cmil/ft for aluminum at room temperature. Recommendations include a 1.25× continuous-load margin on ampacity. Always size overcurrent protection (fuse/breaker) to the wire's ampacity, not just to the load.
